Parliament began singing in the school yard before the entire school. One of the band's members found his love of music by listening to his family's record collection. The members of Parliament met in 1978. Early jazz heavily influenced the early work of the group.

Even after getting the record deal Parliament were not sure if they would make it in the end. Parliament talked to a music director from B92.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Parliament was signed.

The latest release is 's first project since the band broke up five years ago. The band may have recently completed their most current record, but they are planning the next release already. Parliament's members hope this tour and the new record attracts a whole new audience.
