Pinback Tickets
Pinback an indie rock band from San Diego, California combine supernal pop harmonies with smooth rhythms and beautifully mesmerizing vocals to bewitch their audience. The band's extremely touching and dreamy music is out of this world. There has been a steep rise in the popularity of the band.
In January 1998, Armistead Burwell Smith IV popularly known as “Zach”, and Robert Rulon Crow Junior constituted San Diego’s Pinback as a part-time recording project. Although started as a side project, after Zach's previous band took a long break and Rob was able to devout some time, the side project evolved into a serious project. With the addition of drummer Tom Zinser, Pinback recorded, mixed and mastered every song on their eponymous record at home on Zach's personal computer. The band was just three shows old, when Tim/Kerr Records realized the true potential of the band, and signed Pinback for worldwide distribution rights. But the relationship didn't last long and within six months Pinback left the company. Real talent has many takers, and the band was instantly signed to Ace Fu Records, NY for worldwide manufacturing and distribution, and licensed to R&S, Belgium for European manufacturing and distribution. After the release of their first album, for two years the band focused on building their fan base. The band also hit the road, and ventured on two city West Coast tours and two European tours. Their popularity led to the review of their CD, and within no time it was on the top ten selling records. In 2000 the Tree Recording Company from Chicago had issued a four song EP by the band "Some Voices," which became an instant hit. In fact it was at #42 on the CMJ Charts. The popularity of the band grew steadily, and it was also featured on the home page of Napster.com as a "Featured Artist." In 2001, Rob and Zach completed recording, mixing and mastering, once again Zach's personal computer was used, their long anticipated second full length record, Blue Screen Life. The album exuded something more musically pure, there was nothing-frilly rock about the album, and it was melodious with classic indie flair. The band released their Abaddon in fall 2004 with Touch & Go. This album had a complex song structure but at the same time the band’s indie pop sensibilities were intact. The band released, Nautical Antiques, in 2006 that is a collection of rarities.
