q101 twisted was offered a record contract after playing at at Charlatan, a local dive bar. All the members quit their other jobs to focus on their record. q101 twisted’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure.

q101 twisted realized they had finally made it as soon as Sarah Treadaway started the first fan club for the group in 1977. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Portland to a few thousand all across the country.
