The bassist first found his love of music by listening to his aunt's collection of records. Question Mark started playing at the local bar Comedian. The band used to practice at the drummer's garage.
After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Question Mark was signed to a record deal. The groupplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning. Question Mark’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention.
Question Mark knew that they could really have a career in music after the band’s first fan club was started by Barbara Abbey in 1975. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Chicago. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
