Started in 2002, Quietdrive is a pop punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band issued their maiden album, When All That’s Left Is You on May 30, 2006 and is signed to Epic Records. The quintet formed in a short span of time was able to garner quite a fan following due to their live shows. The band has been wowing and wooing the audience with their shows prior to shining with the record label.

Justin Bonhiver and Droo Hastings not only grew up together but also were best friends. When the duo was in the ninth grade, Brandon Lanier told Hastings that he was a very good drummer; and they should set up a band. The band was formed, and Droo Hastings took the charge of the lead singer, and Brandon took care of the bass. The trio started looking for a lead singer, and they placed an ad on MP3.com. In response to the ad, Kevin Truckenmiller sent his solo work, and an early avatar of the song Both Ways. After hearing Truckenmiller over the net, the trio got him to audition for them. Although the trio could not make out what Kevin was singing, he got the position of the lead singer. Kevin also brought along with him, his college friend Matt Kirby (guitar, vocals) to complete the line up. After securing the line up, the band hit the road and toured the Midwest for almost a year and a half. They were able to form quite a fan following with their live shows. Their popularity was increasing day by day and subsequently Epic records signed the band in 2004. Kevin Truckenmiller and Matt Kirby had a side project called Sneaker 2 Bombs. The members of Quietdrive acted as backing vocals for the side project during live shows. In a way the band members of Quietdrive were juggling two bands, and it was decided to make Sneaker 2 Bombs the permanent band. After some time the band again changed their name to The Never Ending..., although that was almost instantly cast aside. Finally the band settled on the name Quietdrive.

"The scary problem with anointing Quietdrive the orange standard-bearer of modern pop songs is that there's no one else for comparison. Recent thought on Quietdrive has been a real eye-opener for society from young to old. Quietdrive are the truthful summary that I know. To put it simply, people like Quietdrive."

The band Quietdrive released their maiden album, When All That's Left Is You, in 2006. The maiden single "Rise from the Ashes" was featured on EA's NHL 2007 audio. The album was well accepted and in January 2007, the band became the "Artist of the Month" on Xbox Live. The band hit the road to promote their album, and toured the Midwest heavily during late 2006 and early 2007. The band had issued their new single "Pretend" on their AbsolutePunk.net page in early 2007. Matt Kirby after the release of the maiden album had stated that the band was keen to explore different sounds in their album, including the harder rock sounds from their past.
