Racebannon started performing at Beer, a college bar. The group had their friends call into the local radio station to play their early songs. The members of Racebannon were friends in college. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in grade school.

Racebannon were still not sure if they would make it after getting a record. They had heard too many stories and knew that they were in no position to expect anything. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they began.

Racebannon knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true in 1976, as soon as Jenna O'Toole started the group’s first fan club. The fan club received a huge boost after Karen Wolbert designed a website for the band. That coupled with the tour country wide saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.

The new album from Racebannon is a refinement of their traditional sound. The band recently finished their most current album, and they are already plotting the next move. Racebannon intends to take a break after this next tour, allowing the group members to recharge after a long year.

The group has an obsession with Engineer in Cincinnati and are sure to play a concert every year.
