Raekwon started playing in local festivals. Charles Brown heavily influenced the early work of the band. Raekwon began playing together in 1995. The band wanted to make a living through a music career since they were in grade school.

Raekwon was discovered after single was played on B93.9. The groupplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning. Raekwon’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues which they began.

Raekwon's new release is the group's seventh album. The group recently finished their latest project, and they are already plotting the next move.
