Rahj’s members met in high school. The drummer wanted to start a group since he was in high school. Rahj started playing at the college dive bar Outlaw. The Beach Boys heavily influenced the early work of the group.
Rahj was offered a record contract after putting on a show at at Dome, a local club. Rahj’s first album failed to sell, but the second album saved them from obscurity.
Rahj accepted that they could really have a career in music after the band’s first fan club was started by Amy Noonan in 1985. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Austin, but the creation the band’s website by Anna Dickenson, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.
The most current album from Rahj has been heavily influenced by bands of the '70s. The group may have just finished their most current release, but they are thinking of what is to come next.
Generally, critics will praise Rahj for their playfulness with the audience during live performances. Charleston music critic Samuel DiSalvatore has always mentioned band’s great vocals. Rahj’s latest record has received inspiring praise from all the critics, including Reggie Molitor, who first saw the band sing in Jacksonville.
Rahj will mix songs from the most current record with hits from its previous release. Chicago has always been a haven for the group, so they are sure to schedule a concert there every time they tour. TheSeats.com allows fans to stop at one place online and find all the information they need. The site has Rahj tickets, the touring schedule, and seating charts for concerts.
