Railroad Earth Tickets

Since the past few years Railroad Earth has made a name for the band and has achieved wide popularity throughout the American roots music scene. From their first gigs in May 2001, to their most recent shows for their legions of loyal fans, Railroad Earth has been an unequaled force whose brilliant songwriting, singing and performances presented on stage have made them one of the most famous bands to come up in years. They are Americana-based jamband belonging to Sparta, New Jersey. Their music is a blend of elements of bluegrass, rock and roll, and jazz, Celtic and among others. The band is much popular for its extensive tour performances and lyrical songwriting within an acoustic groundwork.

The band members are all prolific musicians. They first came together in early 2001. Initially the band comprised of guitarist/vocalist Todd Sheaffer, violinist/vocalist Tim Carbone, mandolinist/vocalist John Skehan, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Andy Goessling, drummer/vocalist Carey Harmon, and bassist Dave Von Dollen. They played both original material mostly penned by Sheaffer, the former From Good Homes songwriter, as well as traditional songs.

Rehearsing just for three weeks, they led into a local recording studio and recorded a five-song demo. The tracks were recorded live with no overdubs excluding backing vocals; The Black Bear Sessions gave Railroad Earth's career a successful start. Achieving increased fame they hired a manager on board who further promoted their demo to some of the country’s most honored festivals, rapidly putting down a date at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. This was remarked as their tenth gig. The Black Bear Sessions was issued to the public in June 2001, and being impressed by their performance at Telluride, Sugar Hill Records offered the band to sign a record deal. The Black Bear Sessions includes some of the most notable songs in Railroad Earth's career, comprising "Seven Story Mountain" and "Head."

As of June 2002, they came up with their follow-up album to The Black Bear Sessions, titled Bird In A House. The album consisted songs such as "Like A Buddha," "Mighty River," and the title track to the LP. The group continues its busy touring schedule, playing theatres, folk-music festivals, jam-band festivals, and other locales, while garnering much attention for its unique music and enjoyable live shows. The band finally built up a huge dedicated fan base. In 2003 bassist Johnny Grubb substituted Dave Von Dollen. In 2004 the band issued its third studio album, The Good Life, presenting "Storms," Mourning Flies," and "Goat." The band keeps on touring throughout the country, and its first live album, "Elko," was released in late January 2006. Though they have not brought out much work, being busy with tight tour schedules they focus on quality.
