Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys are famous as one of the most renowned bluegrass performers in the USA. They have been playing, in several incarnations, since the mid forties. Ralph is regarded as the patriarch of traditional and bluegrass music.

Performing since decades, after 55 years in the genre, he's still the most proficient banjo picker and tenor singer in bluegrass music. As a recording star, he has done on more than 170 albums, tapes, and CDs. He's also composed numerous songs himself. Ralph's performed throughout the United States and in several foreign countries, too, including many tours of Japan. In addition to the umpteen awards Ralph has been acknowledged as a bluegrass musician. He is also a member on the Grand Ole Opry, and a Shriner, a member of the Primitive Baptist Universalist Church, and active in his local community, having functioned on the Dickenson County School Board.

The Clinch Mountain Boys presently live in various communities in the mountains of Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. They get together in Coeburn, where their tour bus is placed and lead to the road. Their regular workweek begins on Wednesday or Thursday and enfolds up on Sunday, when they usually head in home for a few days of well-deserved rest before embarking on all over again. They are regarded as the pioneers of bluegrass music. The founder Ralph who has a voice that has remained unshakable throughout a career that stretches for more than half a century. Though age tends to have a somewhat adverse consequence on most of us, Ralph Stanley manifests power that many half his age only desire of. It is not only Ralph who is responsible for such a prolific repertoire. The other members including Marty Stuart, Tagaq, Vieux Farka Toure, Tim Williams all have brilliants talents that well complement Ralph’s Music. They would be performing throughout 2007; it would be a privilege attending the legendary band.
