Ronnie Milsap is a well renowned American Country/Pop Singer and Musician. He was one of Country Music's most popular singers in the 1970s and 1980s. He has been the first blind superstar of Country music. He was regarded as one of the most talented Country singers in Country Music at that time, which was also known as Countrypolitan or Country Pop. His greatest crossover hits include "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me", "Smoky Mountain Rain", and "Lost In the Fifties Tonight". To his credit are forty number-one songs, third only to George Strait and Conway Twitty.

He proved to be one of Country Music's most influential stars in the 70s and 80s, becoming one of Country's most prominent artists, attracting both Country and Pop fans. Milsap resided with his grandparents till the age of six. After which he was admitted in the State School for the Blind in Raleigh, North Carolina. When Milsap was seven, his teachers discovered his musical talents, and he soon started learning classical music formally. Soon, Milsap's interest turned towards rock and roll music and soon found a Rock band called "The Apparitions." Milsap was honored by a full college scholarship. In the early 1960s, he found his first professional gig, as a part of J.J. Cale's band.

He came out with his first single, "Total Disaster", in 1963 at the age of twenty. This was succeeded by several Ashford & Simpson compositions, including the hits "Let's Go Get Stoned", which, alas for Milsap, was classified to a B-side. Subsequently it became a million-selling single for the more famous blind pianist, Ray Charles. Milsap went to Memphis, Tennessee to become a session musician. He often worked in Memphis for Chips Moman, and appeared playing the piano on the Elvis Presley hit "Kentucky Rain". He also performed harmony on another Presley hit, "Don't Cry Daddy." In 1970, Milsap achieved popularity in Pop Music with hits such as "Loving You Is a Natural Thing." His debut album followed this success. Ronnie Milsap has stayed on as one of Country Music's biggest influences. In 1993, he brought out another single entitled "True Believer". As of 2000, Milsap issued another single called "Time, Love, and Money". It was thought that by this time Milsap's chart success days were slowing down, but in 2006, he made a breakthrough with another single called "Local Girls", which reached #54. He continues his live shows that are as enjoyable as his recordings.
