Rustic Overtones began playing together while they were in grade school. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his sibling's collection of records. Rustic Overtones started performing at Chum, a local dive bar. The band used to practice at the bassist's basement.
Rustic Overtones’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The band played for years atsmall clubs making almost no money.
Rustic Overtones knew that they were truly working musicians after the band’s first fan club was started in 2000 by Brenda Thomalson. After playing from California to New York, the band’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Washington, D.C. to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Members of Rustic Overtones hope to collaborate with other artists during this tour. The band is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their new record. Rustic Overtones's newest project has taken the band in a quite different direction, going back to basics.
