Sandcarvers Tickets
Sandcarvers began performing at the local club City. The band used to sell their tapes out of their car at local shows. Sandcarvers’s members were friends in middle school. The drummer used to listen to his grandmother's music constantly as a kid.
After getting the record deal, Sandcarvers were sure they would make it. The group is so popular they fan clubs in every city. Sandcarvers met with a local DJ from X93.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The group members were excited to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Sandcarvers knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after the group’s first fan club was started by Kimberly Phillippe in 1977. Initially the group only had a few fans from Kansas City in the club, but after playing from New York to California the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
The latest album from Sandcarvers has been heavily influenced by artists of the 1980s. The group has just finished their new release, but they are plotting their next move already. Sandcarvers's members hope to collaborate with other artists during the tour.
Critics have generally commended Sandcarvers for their ability to energize the audience at live shows. Stan Natalello, a music critic from San Francisco, has always been enamored with group’s terrific stage presence. Sandcarvers’s latest record is receiving terrific reviews from Ian Jagodzinski, a music critic out of Houston, and Irwin Fraiser, from San Diego.
Portland has always been a haven for the band, so they are sure to schedule a performance there every time they tour. Sandcarvers respects the fact that their fans love their past records, so they go to great effort to incorporate the previous hits with the latest ones.
