The members of Saosin met in grade school. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his mother's record collection. Saosin started performing at the local dive bar Beach. The group was influenced by Dolly Parton.

Saosin was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on B94.5. The group members were relieved that all the small bars they had played had paid off. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began.

Saosin knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after Jen Harkenreader started the first fan club for the group in 1997. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the group play at a small club in Boston, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.

Saosin's new release is a refinement of their previous sound. The group is in the first leg of the tour accompanying for their most current record. Members of Saosin see this tour as a chance to expose another group of fans to their music.
