S.a.r.k. began performing at the local bar Ransom. The drummer was encouraged to play by his music teacher. The lead singerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his brother's collection of records. S.a.r.k. began playing together in 1995. Johnny Cash heavily influenced the early work of the group.

S.a.r.k. signed the record deal, but were not expecting the next step to be any easier. The bandplays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they began.
