Scars on Broadway began playing together while they were in high school. Buddy Holly heavily influenced the early work of the group. Scars on Broadway started performing at the local bar Academic. The drummer wanted to start a group since he was in high school.
Scars on Broadway was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. Scars on Broadway’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold.
Scars on Broadway realized they had finally made it when Jen Prather started the first fan club for the band in 1992. Initially the band only had a few fans from Jacksonville in the club, but after playing from New York to California the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Scars on Broadway plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to work on other projects. The band is in the middle of the tour promoting for their most current release. Scars on Broadway's newest release is the group's first album since the band broke up six years ago.
Tampa has always been a haven for the band, so they are sure to schedule a show there every time they tour.
