Sha Na Na began performing at Cafeteria, a college club. The guitarist used to listen to his dad's music constantly as a child. The drummer used to listen to radio constantly as a kid. The members of Sha Na Na met in middle school. The group was influenced by the Benagls.

Sha Na Na was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on Z100.9. Sha Na Na were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands.

The band is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their most current record. Sha Na Na's most current project is the group's first album since the band broke up four years ago.
