Slipknot’s members were friends in high school. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his aunt's music collection. Slipknot started singing at the college dive bar Cafeteria. The group used to practice at the lead singer's garage.

Slipknot’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold. The group is enjoying its success, touring constantly. Slipknot talked to a local DJ from B93.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Slipknot was signed. The members of the group all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
