Stereophonics started singing at the college club City. The group was influenced by Alice in Chains. Stereophonics’s members met in grade school. The guitaristdiscovered his love of music by listening to his sister's collection of records.
The latest record is 's first album since the band broke up four years ago. The band may have recently finished their new release, but they are already planning the next release. Stereophonics intends to take some time off after the tour, to allow the band members to work on other projects.
Stereophonics were sure they were not going to be a one hit wonder after their single became popular. The group really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly before fans. Stereophonics was offered a record contract after playing at at Fighter, local bar. All the members quit their day jobs to focus on their music.
Stereophonics knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act as soon as Angela Hornstrom started a fan club for the band in 1997. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Jess Scheutz created a website for the group and a national tour gave the group plenty of exposure.
