Steven Curtis Chapman Tickets
Steven Curtis Chapman grew up with music in his life. His father, Herb, was a guitar teacher in his childhood home of Paducah, Kentucky. Thus, Steven grew up with the notion of playing guitar and singing firmly entrenched in his head. He did attend college a couple of times, originally set to enter Georgetown College in Kentucky as a pre-med student in 1908 after finishing high school, but the cal of music was too loud.
In the ‘80s he became songwriter for Opryland USA. He wrote gospel hits like “Built to Last,” which was performed by The Imperials. Other notable gospel acts, like Sand Patty, Billy Dean, and Glen Campbell, have performed his songs.
In 1987, Chapman released his first album, First Hand. He found a place on the Contemporary Christian Music Charts with songs like “Weak Days”. The album would be the first of many albums and numerous hits on the Contemporary Christian charts.
By the ‘90s, Steven had begun to realize his ambition to appeal to a wider, more mainstream audience. The Great Adventures (1992) won two Grammy Awards and was marketed to a more diverse audience after Sparrow Records was purchased by EMI/Liberty.
Since then, Steven Curtis Chapman has continued to be one of the busiest artists in the recording studio and touring. Chapman tickets have become a big draw in his two decades as a professional performer. The Seats will have tickets to all his big concerts as his tour continues to promote his 16th album.
