Symphony X’s members met in 1976. The lead singer used to listen to radio constantly as a child. Symphony X began performing at Guru, a local dive bar. The group used to sell their tapes out of their truck on the street.
Symphony X’s first release rose quickly in the charts, giving them the national recognition they always wanted. The band no longer has any problem selling out a show.
Symphony X knew that they could really have a career in music in 1976, as soon as the group's first fan club was started by Laura O'Malley. After starting out with a handful of members in Denver, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
Symphony X's newest project has been heavily influenced by bands of the '60s. The band just completed their most current release, but they are thinking of what is next to come.
