The members of Takota grew up together. The bassist was encouraged to play by his mother. The lead singer used to listen to his dad's CD constantly as a kid. Takota started singing at Beach, a college bar. Dolly Parton heavily influenced the early work of the band.

Takota’s first release rose quickly in the charts, giving them the national recognition they always wanted. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller clubs in which they started.

Takota realized that they were real working musicians in 1998, after the group's first fan club was started by Jessica Brady. After starting out with a handful of members in Kansas City, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.

Takota will take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to rest after a long year. The group is in the start of the promotional tour for their latest project. The new project from Takota only took a few weeks to record.

Often times, critics will commend Takota for their ability to connect with the crowd when they perform live. Toby Brooks, a music critic from Washington, D.C., has always been enamored with band’s incredible rhythms. Takota’s newest record is receiving incredible reviews from notable music critics like Ted Treadaway and Raymond Rastetter.

Takota's performances always have the audience singing by the end of the performance. The band has all their tour information, from the tour schedule to the latest Takota tickets released, on TheSeats.com.
