The members of Tantric met in grade school. The lead singer use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a child. Tantric began singing at Astronomy, a college club. The band used to practice at the guitarist's basement.

Tantric’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The band is constantly touring now, rarely taking a week or night off. got X94.1 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the band. The groupspent years before being signed as an opening act.

Tantric realized they had finally made it in 1983, as soon as Nancy Natalello started the band’s first fan club. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Philadelphia to a few thousand all across the country.

Tantric's new project took six months to produce. The group just completed their latest album, and they are already planning their next move.
