Taproot Tickets
The members of Taproot were friends in college. The bassist use to listen to records constantly as a kid. Taproot began singing at Troupe, a college dive bar. The group had their friends call into the local radio station to play their first release.
Taproot met with a local DJ from B96.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The group members quit their other jobs to focus on their album. The band is mobbed by fans at every show.
Taproot knew that living life as a musician was a actual possibility in 1996, when the band's first fan club was started by Breanda Zadra. The fan club received a huge boost after Cynthia Hilgendorf designed a website for the band. That coupled with the tour from coast to coast saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.
Taproot plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the group members to rest after a long year. The band may have just finished their new release, but they are thinking of what is next to come. The latest record from Taproot only took a few weeks to record.
Every time the group comes to San Francisco they are sure to stop at Merchant and play a show. Taproot appreciaites their fans and wants to give them a good show, so they play older hits along with the new singles.
