Tapwater started performing at Miscellany, a local dive bar. The band was influenced by Elvis. The members of Tapwater were friends in college. The drummer used to listen to his sibling's tape constantly as a teenager.

Tapwaterwere tentative after releasing their debut album, but were more than relieved when they started hearing their music on the radio. The group group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them.

Tapwater's new album has taken the band in a completely different direction, using more instruments than ever before. The band is in the second leg of the accompanying tour for their newest project. Tapwater will take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to rest after a long year.
