Tarwater began playing together in 1980. The lead singerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his uncle's music collection. The bassist discovered his love of music while listening to his grandfather's record collection. Tarwater started singing at the local club Laboratory. The band was influenced by the Animals.

Tarwater's most current record is the group's first since the group members went to work on independent projects eight years ago. The group may have recently finished their most current release, but they are thinking of what is next to come. Tarwater plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to work on side projects.

After the single hit the airwaves and blew up, Tarwater were still afraid they’d be a one hit wonder. The group really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly for fans.
