The country star is on the Live in Overdrive Tour, with shows scheduled from July 26, 2012 to September 22, 2012. It all begins at Virginia Beach, Virginia at the Farm Bureau Live at VA Beach and ends in Boston, Massachusetts at the Comcast Center. This block of performances includes a couple festival sets, a number of headlining shows, and a few stops at the Armed Forces bases throughout the United States.

This is not the only news for Toby Keith. He has released the single "I Like Girls That Drink Beer" to pique his fans interest for his new album due out this fall. The single hopefully sheds light on what is to come, songs that have an upbeat sense, either overflowing with pride in the country or songs about overflowing libations and just good times. Oh, also fans need not concern themselves with this singer's future, as he turned down the offer to act as a judge for Season 12 of American Idol.

Toby Keith History

The country singer known as Toby Keith was born Toby Keith Covel on July 8, 1961. His childhood, teenage years, and early 20s are interesting not completely out of the ordinary. Raised in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, he was introduced to music by his family, especially after visiting Billie Garner's Supper Club when visiting his grandmother in Fort Smith. He even played defensive end in high school. College did not follow, but a brief time as a hand in the oil field and an even briefer attempt to make football a career while playing in the now-defunct USFL followed. These experiences led him back to music.

With little support from his family and friends, Toby Keith moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s. The move would be fortuitous. He signed with Mercury and released a self-titled debut album. It was the first of four studio albums to be released through the label. Toby Keith, Boomtown, and Blue Moon went platinum while Dream Walkin', his last album with the label, only went gold. The move over to DreamWorks lasted until 2005. In that time, Toby Keith released five albums (How Do You Like Me Now?!, Pull My Chain, Unleashed, Shock'n Y'all, and Honkytonk University) all of which went at least platinum. In the past few years he has been working with Show Dog Nashville. Beginning with White Trash Money, he has released a total of six albums. Those last five (Big Dog Daddy, That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy, American Ride, Bullets in the Gun, and Clancy's Tavern) have reached number one on the charts.
