U-melt began playing together while they were in high school. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his sibling's collection of records. The drummer use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a child. U-melt began performing at the local bar Academic. The band used to sell their tapes out of their van on the street.

U-melt's latest record has taken the band in a completely different direction, using more instruments than ever before. The group is in the beginning of the tour promoting for their most current release. After this last busy year the members of U-melt will take a break to recharge.
