Ugly Tickets
Ugly’s members met in 1984. The band used to practice at the bassist's garage. Ugly began playing at Podium, a local dive bar. The bassist was encouraged to play by his music teacher.
After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Ugly was signed to a record deal. The group's members all had odd jobs while they waited for their time to come. Ugly were convinced their hard work had paid off after their first single rose to the top of the charts. The group continues to play large venues, but still enjoys performing in smaller clubs on occasion.
Ugly finally realized they made it in 1981, when the band's first fan club was started by Barbara Lordi. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Ann Arbor to a few thousand across the nation.
Ugly intends to take a break after the tour, to allow the group members to pursue other projects. The band is in the midst of the tour promoting for their newest project. Ugly's newest release has been heavily influenced by old R&B artists.
