Vains of Jenna’s members grew up together. The lead singer used to listen to his grandmother's CD constantly as a kid. Vains of Jenna began performing at the college dive bar Guru. Madonna heavily influenced the early work of the group.
After the single hit the airwaves and blew up, Vains of Jenna were still afraid they’d be a one hit wonder. The band is enjoying its success, touring constantly. Vains of Jenna was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Z102.1. The band members were excited that all the small bars they had played had paid off.
Vains of Jenna realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true in 1987, as soon as the group's first fan club was started by Helen Nassau. Initially the band only had a few fans from Omaha in the club, but after playing across the world the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Vains of Jenna's most current record took seven months to put together. The group recently completed their newest project, but they are thinking of what is to come next. After this past busy year the members of Vains of Jenna will spend some time apart to rest after a long tour.
