Valentino began playing together in 1987. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in college. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his mom's collection of records. Valentino began singing at the college club Chief. The band used to practice at the lead singer's garage.
Valentino will take some time off after this next tour, allowing the group members to work on other projects. The band is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their most current release. Valentino's new album is the band's first record since the band broke up seven years ago.

The band members were ecstatic to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Valentino accepted they had finally made it as soon as Carol Moran started the first fan club for the group in 1980. The club started out in Portland with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
