Valient Thorr’s members were friends in middle school. The drummer first found his love of music by listening to his father's record collection. The guitarist used to fall asleep with a tapeplaying as a child. Valient Thorr started playing at the college dive bar Troupe. The Animals heavily influenced the early work of the band.

Valient Thorr's latest release is the group's first since the band members went to work on independent projects nine years ago. The group is in the second leg of the tour promoting for their newest release. Valient Thorr see this tour as a chance to expose another audience to their music.

Valient Thorr talked to a DJ from X101.9 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Valient Thorr was signed. The groupwas headlining shows soon after they started playing live.

Valient Thorr accepted that they were truly working musicians as soon as Nancy Quaid started a fan club for the band in 1985. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Sarah Wolbert and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
