Valy’s members met in 1977. The bassist used to listen to his aunt's music constantly as a child. Valy began singing at Caliente, a local bar. Earth, Wind, and Fire heavily influenced the early work of the band.

Valy’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.

Valy accepted that they were real working musicians in 2000, after the group's first fan club was started by Dorothy McCarther. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.

After this last non-stop year the members of Valy will take some time off. The band has just finished their latest release, and they are already thinking of their next move. Valy's new album has been heavily influenced by artists of the 1980s.
