Vandaveer’s members met in grade school. The band was influenced by Kiss. Vandaveer began playing at Anyplace, a local club. The bassist used to annoy his sister by playing his favorite music nonstop.
Vandaveer's new record has been heavily influenced by artists of the 1970s. The band just finished their most current release, but they are already thinking of their next move. Members of Vandaveer see this tour as a chance to expose another audience to their music.
Vandaveer’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller clubs in which they began. Vandaveer was discovered after single was played on B97.1. The band regularly played at Cafeteria before making it to the big time.
Vandaveer realized they had finally made it in 1994, as soon as the group's first fan club was started by Sarah Carter. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
