Veruca Salt’s members met in 1990. The guitarist was heavily influenced by his dad's love for music. The drummer used to fall asleep with the radioplaying as a kid. Veruca Salt started singing at the college dive bar Cafeteria. The group had their friends call into the local radio station to play their first release.

Veruca Salt's new project has taken the band in a very new direction, with a less refined sound. The band is in the midst of the promotional tour for their most current release. Veruca Salt are expecting to bring in a new group of fans with this tour and the new project.

Veruca Salt were convinced their hard work had paid off after their first single rose to the top of the charts. Veruca Salt was offered a record contract after putting on a show at at City, a local dive bar.

Veruca Salt finally realized they made it after Linda Gibson started a fan club for the group in 1978. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Amanda Francoeur and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.

San Antonio has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the band schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
