Waking Ashland Tickets
The members of Waking Ashland met in 1990. The band used to sell their records out of their car at local shows. Waking Ashland began singing at Colleague, a college dive bar. The drummer used to annoy his family by playing his favorite tape at all hours of the night.
Waking Ashland’s single rose quickly in the charts giving then the national recognition they always wanted. The group continues to play large venues, but still enjoys playing in smaller clubs on occasion. Waking Ashland was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Q89.9. The band's members all had odd jobs while they worked hard to be known.
Waking Ashland knew they had finally made it in 1980, when Jenny Menchen started the group’s first fan club. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Orlando, the fan club quickly grew with band’s national tour and the launching of the group’s website by Breanda Harkenreader.
The band is in the first leg of the accompanying tour for their newest project. Waking Ashland hope to collaborate with other artists while they tour.
Critics have generally praised Waking Ashland for their ability to connect with the crowd during concerts. A music critic from Pittsburgh, Galloway Slatter, has always mentioned group’s effort every show. Waking Ashland’s latest project has received terrific reviews from all the critics, including Ralph Cotroneo, who first saw the group play in Concord.
The band has always had a good time in Kansas City so they make sure to play there every year, even if they are not promoting anything.
