Walking Bicycles’s members were friends in college. The bassist first found his love of music by listening to his father's collection of records. Walking Bicycles started performing in summer festivals. The band used to sell their tapes out of their van at local shows.

submitted their single to X100.9 and a DJ took a liking to it. Walking Bicycles were happy to get the record deal, but were not sure how far they would go. The release of their debut album convinced them that they were right where they should be after their songs began to get lots of radio play.

The group is in the second leg of the accompanying tour for their latest project. Walking Bicycles's most current record has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1970s.
