The members of Walri met in 2000. The band had their friends harass the local radio station to play their tracks. Walri began performing at the local bar Canopy. The drummer use to listen to tapes constantly as a kid.

Walri intends to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the group members to pursue other projects. The group may have recently finished their latest project, but they are planning the next release already. Walri's new release is the band's eighth project.

Walri was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Q98.9. The bandspent years before being signed as an opening act. After getting the record deal, Walri were sure they would make it.
