Wango Tango Tickets
The members of Wango Tango met in 1985. The drummer used to annoy his grandmother by playing his favorite cassette tape constantly. Wango Tango started singing at the local dive bar Rapture. The band was influenced by Jerry Lee Lewis.
Wango Tango was discovered after single was played on X94.1. The band's members all had odd jobs while they waited for their time to come. Wango Tango were still a little worried after they released their debut single, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. The bandplays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they began.
Wango Tango knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true after the band’s first fan club was started by Helen Rohrs in 1982. After playing from New York to California, the group’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Raleigh to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Wango Tango plans to take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to pursue other projects. The band is in the second leg of the accompanying tour for their most current project. The latest project from Wango Tango is the band's first album in nine years.
Wango Tango's performances always have the audience singing by the end of the performance. The band loves playing in San Antonio because they played their first sold out show there.
