The members of Wave Day grew up together. The band used to practice at the bassist's house. Wave Day began playing at Engineer, a college bar. The bassist wanted to start a band since he was in high school.

Wave Day hope to team up with other artists during the tour. The group is in the beginning of the promotional tour for their most current record.

After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Wave Day knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder. The band is so popular they fan clubs in every city. Wave Day talked to a DJ from B93.1 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Wave Day was signed. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them.

Wave Day knew that they could really have a career in music as soon as Donna Vanderhoff started the first fan club for the band in 1999. The fan club grew quickly from a few dozen members in a few cities to a few thousand from coast to coast.
