The members of Xavier-New Orleans met in high school. The lead singer wanted to start a band since he was in grade school. Xavier-New Orleans started performing at Anyplace, a local bar. The group used to sell their records out of their car in the school parking lot.
Xavier-New Orleans talked to a local program director from X98.9 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Xavier-New Orleans was signed. The groupyears opening for bands at parties. Xavier-New Orleans were unsure about their music careers with the release of their first album, and were relieved after their music began climbing the charts ad getting lots of play on the radio.
accepted that they had made it in 1977, after the band's first fan club was started by Breanda Wolbert. Initially the band only had a few fans from Detroit in the club, but after playing country wide the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
The latest project is 's first project since the band broke up seven years ago. The band just finished their new album, and they are already plotting the next move. Xavier-New Orleans's members hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever.
