Y-love’s members met in 1981. The band wanted to be performers since they were small children. Y-love started playing at the local dive bar Timmy's Last Stand. The band used to sell their tapes out of their van on the street.

Y-love were still a little worried after they released their debut release, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started. got X92.1 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the group. The band members were relieved to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.

The band has just completed their new release, and they are already planning their next move. The new project from Y-love has taken the band in a quite different direction, with a less refined sound.
