Zepparella started singing at Chum, a local bar. The band used to practice at the drummer's basement. Zepparella began playing together while they were in middle school. The drummerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his brother's collection of records.
The new project from Zepparella is a refinement of their familiar sound. The band just finished their new record, but they are planning the next release already. Members of Zepparella hope to team up with other artists during this tour.
Generally, critics commend Zepparella for their playfulness with the audience during live shows. A music critic from Los Angeles, Owen Ullmann, has always been impressed with group’s great drummer. Zepparella talked to a local music director from Z99.1 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Zepparella was signed. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Zepparella accepted that they could really have a career in music as soon as Carol Pillar started the first fan club for the band in 2000. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Mary Leffelman created a website for the band and a national tour gave the band plenty of exposure.
Zepparella knows to play both the old and the new at their concerts. Washington, D.C. has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the group schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
