Zero’s members met in middle school. The bassist use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a teenager. The guitarist use to listen to CDs constantly as a teenager. Zero started singing at Comedian, a college club. The Mamas and the Papas heavily influenced the early work of the group.
After the single hit the airwaves and blew up, Zero were still afraid they’d be a one hit wonder. The band's members had horrible jobs when they started playing, just biding time until they would hit the big time.
accepted that they had made it when Donna Dickenson started the first fan club for the group in 1976. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Anna Okerblom created a website for the band and a national tour gave the group plenty of exposure.
Zero are expecting to bring in a whole new audience with this tour and the most current album. The band has just finished their newest record, and they are plotting their next move already.
Generally, critics have praised Zero for their ability to connect with the audience at live performances. Tim Storjohann, a music critic from Cleveland, has always been impressed with group’s incredible hooks. Zero’s new release has received great praise from all the critics, including Otis Phillippe, who first saw the band perform in Springfield.
