Zin started singing at the college bar Overtone. Music of the 1950s heavily influenced the early work of the band. Zin began playing together while they were in grade school. One of the group's members was heavily influenced by his grandfather's love of music.

Zin were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. Now the group headlines shows across Europe. got X90.1 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the group. The band members quit their other jobs to focus on their record.

The band just finished their new album, but they are planning the next release already. Zin plans to take a break after the tour, to allow the group members to pursue individual projects.

The band has an obsession with Outdoors in St. Louis and are sure to play a show every year. Zin seamlessly blends the songs from the older record with tracks from their most current album.
