Zug Izland began playing together while they were in grade school. The bassist was influenced by his mom's love of music. Zug Izland started playing at the local dive bar Cafeteria. The band was influenced by music of the 1970s.
Zug Izland met with a local DJ from Z89.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began.
Zug Izland accepted that the possibility of living life as actual musicians was a real possibility after the band’s first fan club was started by Angela Natalello in 1979. After playing from New York to California, the band’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Springfield to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Zug Izland's members hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever. The group is in the start of the promotional tour for their most current project. Zug Izland's newest album is a refinement of their established sound.
