Fbr Open Tickets

The history of the FBR Open can be traced back in history to the former Phoenix Open golf tournament, which was played from 1932 up until 1935, and then discontinued. Re-launched in 1939, the tournament began to be played at the Phoenix Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona. Fans who bought tickets to the event had the opportunity to see it being played on a variety of different courses in the Phoenix area, up until 1987.

In 1987, the FBR Open tickets have been played exclusively at its current home, the TPC of Scottsdale's Stadium Course. The tournament itself typically is played over a time span of four days and has attracted over 500,000 people, all of whom grab up FBR Open tickets at a rate that is a lot faster than many other tournaments being held.

Fans of the tournament have a particular preference for the course’s 16th hole, which is more familiarly known as "the Amphitheater." It's a real favorite of spectators, who eagerly purchase FBR Open tickets with the hope that they'll be able to land a seat in the stands, which are erected around that course and participate in the party-like atmosphere that takes place around it all during the tournament.

The top golfers in the world always make the trip to Arizona to play at this tournament, including the most famous current star, Tiger Woods, who is remembered for a 1997 hole-in-one that he shot on the 16th. Those who had paid good money for FBR Open tickets were rewarded handsomely that year and every year that Arizona State University alumnus Phil Mickelson who, along with Woods, have been the most well-known players in recent years to compete in the tournament.

In 2008, those who had bought FBR Open tickets were a part of a memorable event, in that over 170,000 of them were in attendance on the third day of the tournament, which set a PGA Tour record, not only for that day but for the weekend win over 530,000 of them showed up for the week. Three golfers in history have won three of the tournaments, including Arnold Palmer.

The lowest 4-day score (72 holes) for the tournament was Mark Calcavecchia in 2001 with a total score of 256, which was an incredible 28 under par. In the second round he scored a 60, which was the lowest score in the history of the Phoenix Open tied with Grant Waite in 1996. Calcavecchia had 32 birdies in the tournament, which was an all-time record, as well.

There have been only two double eagles in the history of the FBR Open. Tom Pernice Jr, made the first one on the 558-yard par-5 15th hole in 1990. Andrew Magee scored the second on the 332-yard par-4 17th hole in 2001. Magee's shot is considered to be the first-ever hole in one on a par-4 in PGA Tour history. Mark Calcavecchia (1989, 1992 and 2001) shares the most wins record of three with Gene Littler (1955, 1959, and 1969) and Arnold Palmer (1961, 1962, and 1963).

In 2009, golfer Kenny Penny became the FBR Open's newest champion, with a score of 270, 14 under par and won a 1st place prize of just over $1 million. Due to the beautiful course, as well as the level of top-notch talent who play in the tournament, the FBR Open is certain to be a major draw for golf fans worldwide for many years to come.
