Relatively new to the PGA tour, the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open was established in 1999. This will be the 12th consecutive year that the tournament is played and this year the purse is at $3 million dollars. This Jack Nicklaus signature course is a par 72 and is the third longest course in the PGA. So it is no wonder that Legends Reno-Tahoe Open tickets are hot sellers.

The course at the Montreux Golf and Country Club was specially designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1997 and soon after the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open found a home there. For the first few years of play, the full field was 156 players, much bigger than the competing World Golf Championship which housed 40 players.
