Wachovia Championship Tickets
Wachovia Championship is a PGA Tour golf tournament, which is established in 2003, and is held at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina in early May. First it was played in 2003 and has attracted some of the top players on the tour. The tournament ended in a playoff from 2004–06, and additionally, the event is known to have one of the tougher finishes on tour with 16, 17, and 18 often ranked among the PGA Tour's toughest holes.
The event is sponsored by the Wachovia Corporation, and the majority of the charitable proceeds from the tournament benefit Teach for America. The host course of the popular Kemper Open during the 1970s was Quail Hollow, but later, in 1980, the tournament was moved to Bethesda, Maryland. Current champion is Anthony Kim, who won in 2008, and the other winners are David Toms in 2003, Joey Sindelar in 2004, Vijay Singh in 2005, Jim Furyk in 2006 and Tiger Woods in 2007. Since its inauguration in 2003, the Championship has raised over $7.5 million for charity, becoming one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Charlotte region, and has been recognized as one of the top events on the PGA TOUR. In 2008, the tournament had a $6.4 million purse with a winner's prize of $1.152 million.
