Jerome (Jerry) Seinfeld is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning American comedian, writer and actor born on April 29, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended SUNY Oswego College in upstate New York but later transferred to Queens College back in New York City.

After a few stints in college productions he developed an interest in standup comedy bounced around clubs doing standup until his television debut came in 1976, on a Rodney Dangerfield HBO Special. On The Tonight Show in May 1981, he made a highly successful appearance and then became a regular on similar shows, including The Mery Griffin Show and Late Night with David Letterman. In 1989 Seinfeld and Larry David created “The Seinfeld Chronicles” later renamed “Seinfeld”. The show had become the most popular and successful sitcom on American television and carried on to 1998.
